Airworthiness Directive: 126

Date: April 22, 2002

Subject: Engine Mount for ROTAX – 912 Engines

Compliance: Mandatory

Models Effected: All S-6 Models

The engine attach bushings connecting the engine to the engine mount broke off on one
side on one of our factory aircraft. The aircraft is equipped with a 100 HP ROTAX engine.
This is the only known failure.

Please comply with the following instructions.

1.) Before next flight:
Visually inspect the small engine mounts bolted to the engine (EG-FEA-912) for cracks
and corrosion especially around the welds at the bushing attach. Clean engine mount before inspection.

2.) AC equipped with 100 HP ROTAX 912 engines:
Perform inspection as above every 25 hours of operation.

3.) AC equipped with 80 HP ROTAX 912 engines:
Perform inspection as above every 50 hours of operation.

If you would like to change your mounts to reinforced parts they are available through our
Parts Department (order 2 EG-FEA-912). The price is $60 each.
With installation of new parts the inspection interval changes to 50 hours for all engine types.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Hopefully we have not inconvenienced you to any great degree. Fly safe!
