David, Allan and Bryce Bell's S-6ES

Last night the most gorgeous big full moon was just appearing above the
ridge in the east while the sun was dipping below the mountain to the west.
The valley's were already cast in deep shadows. I was flying a down a
ridgeline with just the top still lit by the yellow sun when I saw them. A
huge bull elk with a massive spread and more points than I could count
standing broadside. A smaller bull stood behind. Both were lit up like
Christmas trees in the few remaining shafts of light. I was only a couple of
hundred feet away meandering leisurely at 60mph. I put the S6-ES into a nice
tight turn, applied a little power to the 912S Rotax and came back for
another look. The elk didn't seem to mind the quiet slow flying plane. Maybe
they saw the coyote picture on the tail and felt like I was somehow kin. I
was glad because I yet another look. I would have missed this picturesque
setting if I had been in the Cessna.

We finished the Rans Coyote just a few days ago. It has been a wonderful 1
1/2 years of working with my father and brother in our spare time to build.
With a little over 700 hours into it - this is our first kit plane. The kit
was well organized, with almost no problems. Support and service from Rans -
outstanding. The time that I spent with my brother and father - priceless!
Once in a while you really can have your cake and eat it too.

A big hearty thanks to Rans - Randy, Paula, Ed, Steve, and others that have
held our hand along the way. They have been there to answer our smallest
questions and provide helpful information. Even when we made a blunder like
buying the drum brakes when we really should have bought the hydraulics they
treated us far better than most to resolve our mistake.

If you ever pass through Utah watch for a Coyote riding the sunset. We're
having a ball with the little plane out here in the west.
