  The kit took about 4 months to build, things went along pretty smoothly, mostly due to nearly daily calls to Ed. Total weight with the 582 came to 502 lbs., flies at 65-70 mph at 5500 rpm. Had some problems with overheating (Florida summer temperatures) which was corrected by lowering the front end of the radiator by one inch. 
  The airplane is a joy to fly due to the controls being much lighter than some of the other light planes that I have flown. Also, the plane seems to be able to take abuse quite well (hard landings by my students, especially transitioning GA pilots who like to start the flare at 10 feet above the runway.)
