Larry Seals' S-12

We bought a 1993 Rans S12 in May of 2001 as a family science
project. (Young kids---Catie, 14 and Brid, 11 in the aircraft). It had TT
420 hrs with 104 on a Rotax 582. It flew well but need some
updates.

During the winter of 2002 we replaced the old wing tanks with the
new nine gallon tanks and removed the eleven gallon tank in the
cockpit. We replaced the windshield,  the #5 belly pan, installed
carpet, a VHF radio, a GPS, the tail boom rudder stabilization
mod, the tail stabilization cable mod, and because the skins had
never been clear coated, nor had the metal been painted we
painted the entire aircraft. We inspected all bolts, nuts and rivets
replacing those that were worn.

In short we did a rebuild.

Today it flies great, we have protected it from UV, and it looks
super.
