The S-17 has been successfully flown with a nose pod and windshield.  The fairing has proven effective in extending the flight season.  It keeps the wind off your face and body, to feel the breeze you need to slip the plane.  The fairing will un-bolt in minutes by removing 3 bolts and can be retro fitted to a finished S-17.

Handling did not change with the addition of the fairing, other than a slight increase in adverse yaw.  This was acceptable since the S-17 had little to no adverse yaw prior to the nose job.  For $395 it is a well-worth-it addition that installs in a few hours.  Nose pods come in standard gray gel coat; a paint to match option is being studied.
