RANS is proud to announce passing the 4000 units shipped mark in June. Starting in 1983 the prolific aircraft company began production of the S-4/5 Coyote I Ultralight plane. The company quickly moved into two place models ranging from STOL bush planes, aerobatic mounts, and high speed cruisers. Most of the dozen models RANS builds are 2-place and fit into the light sport plane category.
The most popular of the RANS line up is the Coyote II S-6 series with almost 1700 built and shipped to date. The Coyote II is a high-wing monoplane, with side by side seating and prop in front.
President Randy Schlitter commented “In 1983 when the first Coyote flew, we dreamed of such success, but to live it over the past 22 years has been most rewarding, 4000 planes! That is a lot of planes in anyone’s’ book!”
RANS is in high gear producing kits and ready to fly sport planes. “Delivery of ready to fly sport plane orders without delaying kit shipments is our current challenge” continued Schlitter. “ The LSA is giving a lot of pilots the chance to make that dream of owning a plane come true, and we’re glad to be their airplane company, kit, or ready to roll.”
