In S-21 TECH QUESTIONS
The text manual says to rivet the spars, doublers and ribs prior to matching and drilling the holes from the skin into the spars. There has been much discussion amongst the builders on the necessity to not do it in this order because you need to disassemble the doublers from the spars to debur prior to riveting....my interpretation of the manual is to rivet the frame prior to match drilling the skins to ensure no shift or twist induced which would then cause your match drill holes to not line up in the end, and may be more important than the debur issue.... Although I've seen many builder opinions and this may just be all technique, but I'm interested to hear the Factory's opinion on this issue. I assume I will continue to run across this same scenario in more parts across the plane, correct info here will impact future work as well?
